Cornwall Snaps

Going out for a drink. But first...

All wetsuited up.. look how clear the water was!

Afternoon! Here's a few photos from my recent holiday in Cornwall. It was sunny every day when we were there so we spent all of our time at the beach. It was so lovely to have a little escape from reality and get some sea air and since most of my family live there (my Dad is Cornish) it was great see all the family again.

I did however get stung by a weaver fish. These are tiny little shits fish that bury themselves in the sand with spikes on their backs, and when you tread on them they inject poison into your foot. I ended up having to be carried up the beach (embarrassing to say the least) and bearing in mind I've fractured my skull and broken my wrist and finger before this was no doubt the worst pain I have ever felt. I'm allergic to stings so my foot swelled up and I had to hold it in boiling water for about half an hour to calm the pain which ended up lasting about two hours. Don't you just love the sea? Haha.

Despite that little blip it really was a lovely little getaway and we were eating pasties and pub quizzing (and winning might I add) like good ol' Cornishmen should.

10 things they didn't teach me at school

something in pencil I was working on for school, zero relevance but what's a blog post without a picture?
  1. Going to sleep with make-up on is never a good idea.
No one likes waking up feeling greasy with mascara halfway down their face, wash it off girl. You'll appreciate the extra 5 minutes in the morning, no matter how tired you are.
  2. Life is too short for diets.
Does this need an explanation? Custard creams over calorie counters, word.
  3. If you're in a rush, listening to Mumford and Sons will make you speed the hell up when the banjo solo comes on.
Ever listen to Lover of the Light whilst running for a train? No? You're welcome.
  4. Pizza always tastes better cold the next day.
    Really, it does.
  5. No one looks good drunk (unless you're drunk too).
  6. If you're cutting holes in jeans, TAKE THEM OFF FIRST.
Especially if you're using a scalpel. Yes, this is from experience.
  7. If you don't want someone in your life, don't have them in your life. Simple as that.
I live by this. If someone is bringing negativity into your life get them the hell out.
  8. Wearing pretty underwear will 100% make you feel like a goddess
I'm sure this is scientific fact. Getting into a lacy bra and pants set will literally make you feel like a Victoria's Secret model, so do it as often as you can and relish in the fact no one but you can see how hot you look under your clothes.
  9. There's a difference between a friend and someone you have fun with.
Truth be told I found this on tumblr but I thought this was seemingly relevant to my life at the moment.
  10. My nan always taught me if you're sad and you need to cry, for god sake cry.
Cry it all out until you can't cry any more. Throw things, hug someone, scream a little. Then drink a cup of tea and feel better with the knowledge that (and here comes the cliché...are you ready...) things always get better and nothing is temporary. These words, as wall-punchingly annoying they are to hear when you're upset, are true and always make me feel better.
So there you are, a few words of wisdom I've learnt in my 17 years. Got any life lessons for me? Leave them below!

Melt my plastic heart

TOP - TOPSHOP, SKIRT - URBAN OUTFITTERS, SHOES - PRIMARK
photos taken by Akemi

Well hello there! I feel like I've been really busy this week, besides watching about 8 Orange is the New Blacks in a row and making two during after school trips to Five Guys I've been kayaking and raft building, helping in year seven English and art classes (good citizen, yo) as well as celebrating a friends birthday yesterday. I suppose that's reason enough to suggest why I'm exhausted this week so I think a sit down with a cup of tea is well overdue, even if it is boiling hot outside and I have a rather fidgety cat on my chest.

Also I feel I should mention I dyed my hair! It's now a lot lighter than it was, the aim was to go white but it sort of went very light blonde. The first few days I was in a bit of a flap because I was convinced it was yellow but after a few washes with a new purple shampoo and conditioner I restored it to a more human looking colour. Now I'm really happy with it! I'm a huge flake when it comes to my hair - no, not meaning I have dandruff - but I always decide I'm going to do something crazy with it then I don't end up doing it. I am however booked to have my hair cut on Wednesday and I'm going to get it just above my shoulders. Exciting stuff.

I hope you all had a lovely week,
