New Years Resolutions

I took this last Christmas, not really appropriate for the post but whats a blog post without a picture?

Seeing as it's the new year I have decided to do what I never stick to do and make some new years resolutions. I know its cliche, but I feel as this is the GCSE final year I think should make some improvements and make myself healthier and happier.
  1. Keep Fit and/or join a gym DONE
  2. Revise every exam I take at least a week before
  3. Bake more
  4. Go to parks more
  5. Take more videos
  6. Blog more
  7. Design and make clothes
  8. Take more photos
  9. Eat less junk food
  10. Get a decent job
Most of these things I've meant to do for ages but just never done them, for example joining a gym, but this year I'm going to try and stick to them. As I've completed them I will tick them off on this post, and hopefully I will become healthier and happier by the end of the year.

Happy new year to you all, I hope 2013 will be a good year for you.

So here is my first instagram Sunday summary post! I love reading them, and since I have my new phone I might as well start now. I had to knock a few out because I took so many (oops) and they wouldn't all fit in. I've spent quite a bit in the sales this week, buying more soap and glory products than I need- however I recommend everyone buys the sugar crush body wash, it smells like heaven. Limes and brown sugar is the best way I can describe it. I had a lovely Christmas and a good week, and now I'm off to eat leftover chocolates and run a bath filled with my new snow fairy shower gel and wand!

Boxing Day Sales!

bracelet (£3) and ring (£2.50) - both primark

river island - £10

a christmas present, thought I'd include it

new look - £6 (i couldn't really capture the colour properly in the picture, it's a sort of deep green khaki colour)

topshop £26 (not on sale)

river island - £12
So, yesterday at half seven in the morning, I dragged my bleary eyed self out of bed and headed out to the shops to buy myself some discounted goodness. I had such a good time, despite the unbearable crowds and people pushing into me and shouting 'oh, sorry' as they trod on my feet, it was great. We got there just as the shops opened so the crowds weren't too hectic to begin with. I'm so happy with my bargains, especially the shoes- they have a platform so they make me look really tall.

I also have some sad news. I went into sole trader, and saw that the Jeffrey Campbell Damsels WERE ON SALE FOR £29. And I didn't buy them. Reduced from £130. I tried them on and they looked so beautiful... but I reminded myself I wouldn't wear them, so regretfully I gave them back to the shop assistant and walked away. If you want to buy a pair (I recommend you bloody well do) here is a link. *Wipes away tear*. They also have Litas for like £50ish, so buy those too.

If you read yesterdays post you would have seen that I was going up to London today, but we postponed it until tomorrow. Because I was so tired from yesterday (we had people over) I woke up at 1pm, and so it was a little late to go. I'll upload some photos from when we do go at the weekend.

Merry Christmas!

Hello! I hope you all had lovely Christmases. I had such a good day, the best in a while! Since last Thursday I've been ill, I missed two mock exams, but they sent them to my house for me to do at home. Merry Christmas to me. We all went for a walk on Christmas day and the park was flooded, so my brother had to literally carry me along some parts of the path because they were underwater, and I couldn't get my shoes ruined, could I? I got lots of lovely presents including a ton of chocolate and some clothes. I even helped out by making the bread sauce.

Today I've been shopping in the boxing day sales. It was MAD. I woke up at half seven, half an hour later than I should have, then spent the next fifteen minutes running around like a 'loon on loon pills' (angus thongs and perfect snogging quote) trying to find my left shoe. However we made it in time for the opening of the shops, and I managed to buy three dresses, a pair of shoes, a bracelet and a ring. I would have liked to go into Lush and buy some Christmassy shower gels and soaps, but I was ready to collapse by that time so we went home. I'm so glad we went early because after about 10 the shops were packed. H&M was pretty disappointing, I always find that the clothes they have in the sale are not really me (hot pink cords this means you). However River Island was amazing, I had to restrain myself from buying everything.

I got my iPhone! I now have instagram, my user name is 'rosiejervisx'. I'm going to do Sunday summary posts on Sundays from now on. I'm also looking to find a decent case for my phone, so if anyone knows anywhere that they have good ones please let me know!

Tomorrow I'm going up to London with my Mum and Dad to go to Wahaca at the Southbank and soak up some of the festive atmosphere. I'm also going to post what I bought today and hopefully what I wear tomorrow.

Zalando Party Outfit Competition

link to: litas (Jeffrey Campbell) clutch (Gianni Chiarini) dress (ted baker)
I was recently contacted by Zalando.co.uk about a competition they are holding for the chance to win £400 worth of clothes, or a runner up prize of one of five £20 vouchers. All you have to do is create a party outfit with the products on their website for the chance to win!

The dress immediately stood out to me - the pattern and the colours are just gorgeous. The shape is really lovely too as the broad shoulders and wide skirt will make my figure look more hourglass than it actually is. The shoes of course have to be Jeffrey Campbell, as soon as I saw them on the website I knew they had to be incorporated into the outfit somehow. I think the clutch goes perfectly with the dress, the metallic colour brings out the gold in the dress.

If you would like to enter the competition, here is a link. The closing date is the 10th of January, and this one isn't just for the ladies- men can enter too!

Fingers crossed!

A Few Early Christmas Presents...

Yes, I've broken the tradition and opened a few Christmas presents early. Who's going to know?

First off, I received these two Lush products from Thalia, and some fairy lights which are now hanging over my bed. I can't explain how good the soap smells, its like a mixture of citrus and washing powder- I know that sounds disgusting, but oh my god it is good. The shower gel is also smells great, like bubblegum and calpol. Thank you Thalia!

The candle is from my friend Elena, she also got me some tights (which i wore yesterday so I couldn't photograph them as they're in the wash) and some Argan hair oil. The candle smells so good, it's called 'Black orchid and Vanilla'. I have no idea what a black orchid is supposed to smell like but to me it just smells Christmassy and crisp (can something smell crisp? I don't know). When I've used it a couple of times I'll do a review of the argan oil - so far I like it though.

The lipstick I actually bought for myself, and I like it! It's a little dry, so I had to put lipbalm over the top but the colour is nice. I'm still debating whether it suits me or not because I'm quite pale but overall I like it. I'll try and post a picture of me wearing it soon, my family are having one of those 'invite all your neighbors round and eat party food' kinda party so I might wear it then.

Take off your golden chains

Coat, Jumper, Bag and Tights - All Primark, Shorts - H&m, Boots - Shoezone, Nails - Barry M Gelly Nails in 'blood orange' and Barry M 'gold glitter'

Hello!  I'm feeling very Christmassy today- we went and bought the Christmas tree this morning and this afternoon has consisted of wrapping presents and writing cards. So I thought I would wear a bit of a Christmassy outfit - red fairisle, fur and gold glitter. I'm very happy with my nails, usually when I paint them they go all over my hands and just look crap, but today they came out neater than usual. I really love the Barry M gelly nails, it looks shiny long after it's dried, and the gold glitter nail polish isn't rough like other glitter nail polishes, it feels smooth.

I bought this coat yesterday from Primark for £20, and I love it. It has leather sections on the cuffs and shoulders, and the collar is detachable. I'm thinking of either making or ordering another longer fur collar/stole (possibly in oxblood...) to put on it when I don't wear the one above.

Sorry for the lack of outfit photos at the moment, the light is always really bad in my house so I have to take them outside. Half the time its either pitch black, raining or too windy to get a decent photo. I'll try and take them as often as I can but they won't be as frequent as other posts.

New Look Christmas Party Competition

Coat - Black ring - £3.50 ,Gold ring - £3.99 Clutch - £17.99, Dress - £22.99, False eyelashes - £4.99, Shoes - £12.50 (reduced from £24.99), False nails - £5.99

This is my entry for the New Look Christmas Party blogger competition to win £100 to spend at New Look! The rules are to style an outfit for a Christmas party based on a body shape (hourglass, pear-shape, plus-size, straight up and down, apple- you've all seen Gok Wan's 'How To Look Good Naked' I'm sure). My body shape is straight up and down - considering I wasn't exactly blessed in the curves department. I chose the dress because it is a skater dress, which will exaggerate my (so called) hips with the slightly flared bottom, and cinch in my waist with the pleats.

With high heels, I think you should go hard or go home, so I always choose very high heeled shoes despite being quite tall for my age. I really like these creamy/stone colour, which go well with the dress and they give the outfit a feminine look.

I've wanted a fur coat for ages, and this one is perfect, it gives the outfit a glamorous touch and makes the whole outfit look more expensive. This will also add to my shoulders, making me look a bit more hourglass than straight up and down. Because the English weather is freezing this is great for the winter, as it's (faux) fur it will keep in the warmth.

I love the rings, and they're buy one get one free! I'm going to go into the shop and definitely buy the black stone ring; its gorgeous. I also really like the clutch, the sequins also add to the glamorous side of the outfit. I chose false nails because my nails always look so short and stubby, and I can never really be bothered to paint them. These don't use glue, they have adhesive tabs which are so much better for your nails. The eye lashes are also perfect for parties, as they're big and er... fluttery? I've never tried eylure eyelashes but I would love to give them a go.

If you want to join the competition too, here is a link!

Firmoo Glasses

I was recently sent some glasses from Firmoo.com, and I love them! I don't wear prescription glasses, but who has to know they're just glass? I really like the way they look on, big framed glasses are quite popular at the moment, and ever since seeing someone wearing some tortoiseshell glasses I've really wanted some - and here they are!

Firmoo are a website I've seen around before, selling affordable glasses and sunglasses. You can have prescription lenses or you can just have glass, like me. The glasses themselves are very well made, I compared them to my Mums designer glasses and they are the same quality, and my Mums cost about twice the amount, if not more. They came with a box like case and a fabric case, and a very handy little key ring screw driver to tighten the bolts at the sides.

Also, if you are a first time customer, you can order a pair for free! A major plus for bargain hunters like myself. They have a great range, so order yours in time for Christmas and read your Christmas cards in style.
