New Years Resolutions

I took this last Christmas, not really appropriate for the post but whats a blog post without a picture?

Seeing as it's the new year I have decided to do what I never stick to do and make some new years resolutions. I know its cliche, but I feel as this is the GCSE final year I think should make some improvements and make myself healthier and happier.
  1. Keep Fit and/or join a gym DONE
  2. Revise every exam I take at least a week before
  3. Bake more
  4. Go to parks more
  5. Take more videos
  6. Blog more
  7. Design and make clothes
  8. Take more photos
  9. Eat less junk food
  10. Get a decent job
Most of these things I've meant to do for ages but just never done them, for example joining a gym, but this year I'm going to try and stick to them. As I've completed them I will tick them off on this post, and hopefully I will become healthier and happier by the end of the year.

Happy new year to you all, I hope 2013 will be a good year for you.

Sunday Summary Week 1

1. daisy trying to get in 2. daisy 3. lindor chocolates 4. daisy opening her present 5. chocolate reindeer 6. soap and glory from my nan 7. new pyjamas and socks 8. sales shopping 9. cheap shoes 10. starbucks 11. present from my nan 12.. working out how much I've spent 13. new s&g collection 14. new lush purchase (love it) 15. fairy lights 16. snow fairy bubbles

So here is my first instagram Sunday summary post! I love reading them, and since I have my new phone I might as well start now. I had to knock a few out because I took so many (oops) and they wouldn't all fit in. I've spent quite a bit in the sales this week, buying more soap and glory products than I need- however I recommend everyone buys the sugar crush body wash, it smells like heaven. Limes and brown sugar is the best way I can describe it. I had a lovely Christmas and a good week, and now I'm off to eat leftover chocolates and run a bath filled with my new snow fairy shower gel and wand!

Boxing Day Sales!

bracelet (£3) and ring (£2.50) - both primark

river island - £10

a christmas present, thought I'd include it

new look - £6 (i couldn't really capture the colour properly in the picture, it's a sort of deep green khaki colour)

topshop £26 (not on sale)

river island - £12
So, yesterday at half seven in the morning, I dragged my bleary eyed self out of bed and headed out to the shops to buy myself some discounted goodness. I had such a good time, despite the unbearable crowds and people pushing into me and shouting 'oh, sorry' as they trod on my feet, it was great. We got there just as the shops opened so the crowds weren't too hectic to begin with. I'm so happy with my bargains, especially the shoes- they have a platform so they make me look really tall.

I also have some sad news. I went into sole trader, and saw that the Jeffrey Campbell Damsels WERE ON SALE FOR £29. And I didn't buy them. Reduced from £130. I tried them on and they looked so beautiful... but I reminded myself I wouldn't wear them, so regretfully I gave them back to the shop assistant and walked away. If you want to buy a pair (I recommend you bloody well do) here is a link. *Wipes away tear*. They also have Litas for like £50ish, so buy those too.

If you read yesterdays post you would have seen that I was going up to London today, but we postponed it until tomorrow. Because I was so tired from yesterday (we had people over) I woke up at 1pm, and so it was a little late to go. I'll upload some photos from when we do go at the weekend.

Merry Christmas!

Hello! I hope you all had lovely Christmases. I had such a good day, the best in a while! Since last Thursday I've been ill, I missed two mock exams, but they sent them to my house for me to do at home. Merry Christmas to me. We all went for a walk on Christmas day and the park was flooded, so my brother had to literally carry me along some parts of the path because they were underwater, and I couldn't get my shoes ruined, could I? I got lots of lovely presents including a ton of chocolate and some clothes. I even helped out by making the bread sauce.

Today I've been shopping in the boxing day sales. It was MAD. I woke up at half seven, half an hour later than I should have, then spent the next fifteen minutes running around like a 'loon on loon pills' (angus thongs and perfect snogging quote) trying to find my left shoe. However we made it in time for the opening of the shops, and I managed to buy three dresses, a pair of shoes, a bracelet and a ring. I would have liked to go into Lush and buy some Christmassy shower gels and soaps, but I was ready to collapse by that time so we went home. I'm so glad we went early because after about 10 the shops were packed. H&M was pretty disappointing, I always find that the clothes they have in the sale are not really me (hot pink cords this means you). However River Island was amazing, I had to restrain myself from buying everything.

I got my iPhone! I now have instagram, my user name is 'rosiejervisx'. I'm going to do Sunday summary posts on Sundays from now on. I'm also looking to find a decent case for my phone, so if anyone knows anywhere that they have good ones please let me know!

Tomorrow I'm going up to London with my Mum and Dad to go to Wahaca at the Southbank and soak up some of the festive atmosphere. I'm also going to post what I bought today and hopefully what I wear tomorrow.

Zalando Party Outfit Competition

link to: litas (Jeffrey Campbell) clutch (Gianni Chiarini) dress (ted baker)
I was recently contacted by Zalando.co.uk about a competition they are holding for the chance to win £400 worth of clothes, or a runner up prize of one of five £20 vouchers. All you have to do is create a party outfit with the products on their website for the chance to win!

The dress immediately stood out to me - the pattern and the colours are just gorgeous. The shape is really lovely too as the broad shoulders and wide skirt will make my figure look more hourglass than it actually is. The shoes of course have to be Jeffrey Campbell, as soon as I saw them on the website I knew they had to be incorporated into the outfit somehow. I think the clutch goes perfectly with the dress, the metallic colour brings out the gold in the dress.

If you would like to enter the competition, here is a link. The closing date is the 10th of January, and this one isn't just for the ladies- men can enter too!

Fingers crossed!

there's no silver bullet for a memory

Jumper - H&M, Skirt, Coat, Necklace - Primark, Shoes - Shoezone, Nails - MUA and Barry M

Hello! This is my outfit for today. I've literally done nothing all day except watch Monsters Inc and eat celebrations. The Christmas shopping is finally done, the decorations are up and Joey is home from Uni so it finally feels like Christmas. 9 days to go!

A Few Early Christmas Presents...

Yes, I've broken the tradition and opened a few Christmas presents early. Who's going to know?

First off, I received these two Lush products from Thalia, and some fairy lights which are now hanging over my bed. I can't explain how good the soap smells, its like a mixture of citrus and washing powder- I know that sounds disgusting, but oh my god it is good. The shower gel is also smells great, like bubblegum and calpol. Thank you Thalia!

The candle is from my friend Elena, she also got me some tights (which i wore yesterday so I couldn't photograph them as they're in the wash) and some Argan hair oil. The candle smells so good, it's called 'Black orchid and Vanilla'. I have no idea what a black orchid is supposed to smell like but to me it just smells Christmassy and crisp (can something smell crisp? I don't know). When I've used it a couple of times I'll do a review of the argan oil - so far I like it though.

The lipstick I actually bought for myself, and I like it! It's a little dry, so I had to put lipbalm over the top but the colour is nice. I'm still debating whether it suits me or not because I'm quite pale but overall I like it. I'll try and post a picture of me wearing it soon, my family are having one of those 'invite all your neighbors round and eat party food' kinda party so I might wear it then.

Take off your golden chains

Coat, Jumper, Bag and Tights - All Primark, Shorts - H&m, Boots - Shoezone, Nails - Barry M Gelly Nails in 'blood orange' and Barry M 'gold glitter'

Hello!  I'm feeling very Christmassy today- we went and bought the Christmas tree this morning and this afternoon has consisted of wrapping presents and writing cards. So I thought I would wear a bit of a Christmassy outfit - red fairisle, fur and gold glitter. I'm very happy with my nails, usually when I paint them they go all over my hands and just look crap, but today they came out neater than usual. I really love the Barry M gelly nails, it looks shiny long after it's dried, and the gold glitter nail polish isn't rough like other glitter nail polishes, it feels smooth.

I bought this coat yesterday from Primark for £20, and I love it. It has leather sections on the cuffs and shoulders, and the collar is detachable. I'm thinking of either making or ordering another longer fur collar/stole (possibly in oxblood...) to put on it when I don't wear the one above.

Sorry for the lack of outfit photos at the moment, the light is always really bad in my house so I have to take them outside. Half the time its either pitch black, raining or too windy to get a decent photo. I'll try and take them as often as I can but they won't be as frequent as other posts.

New Look Christmas Party Competition

Coat - Black ring - £3.50 ,Gold ring - £3.99 Clutch - £17.99, Dress - £22.99, False eyelashes - £4.99, Shoes - £12.50 (reduced from £24.99), False nails - £5.99

This is my entry for the New Look Christmas Party blogger competition to win £100 to spend at New Look! The rules are to style an outfit for a Christmas party based on a body shape (hourglass, pear-shape, plus-size, straight up and down, apple- you've all seen Gok Wan's 'How To Look Good Naked' I'm sure). My body shape is straight up and down - considering I wasn't exactly blessed in the curves department. I chose the dress because it is a skater dress, which will exaggerate my (so called) hips with the slightly flared bottom, and cinch in my waist with the pleats.

With high heels, I think you should go hard or go home, so I always choose very high heeled shoes despite being quite tall for my age. I really like these creamy/stone colour, which go well with the dress and they give the outfit a feminine look.

I've wanted a fur coat for ages, and this one is perfect, it gives the outfit a glamorous touch and makes the whole outfit look more expensive. This will also add to my shoulders, making me look a bit more hourglass than straight up and down. Because the English weather is freezing this is great for the winter, as it's (faux) fur it will keep in the warmth.

I love the rings, and they're buy one get one free! I'm going to go into the shop and definitely buy the black stone ring; its gorgeous. I also really like the clutch, the sequins also add to the glamorous side of the outfit. I chose false nails because my nails always look so short and stubby, and I can never really be bothered to paint them. These don't use glue, they have adhesive tabs which are so much better for your nails. The eye lashes are also perfect for parties, as they're big and er... fluttery? I've never tried eylure eyelashes but I would love to give them a go.

If you want to join the competition too, here is a link!

Firmoo Glasses

I was recently sent some glasses from Firmoo.com, and I love them! I don't wear prescription glasses, but who has to know they're just glass? I really like the way they look on, big framed glasses are quite popular at the moment, and ever since seeing someone wearing some tortoiseshell glasses I've really wanted some - and here they are!

Firmoo are a website I've seen around before, selling affordable glasses and sunglasses. You can have prescription lenses or you can just have glass, like me. The glasses themselves are very well made, I compared them to my Mums designer glasses and they are the same quality, and my Mums cost about twice the amount, if not more. They came with a box like case and a fabric case, and a very handy little key ring screw driver to tighten the bolts at the sides.

Also, if you are a first time customer, you can order a pair for free! A major plus for bargain hunters like myself. They have a great range, so order yours in time for Christmas and read your Christmas cards in style.

Stocking Filler ideas

notebook, mug, soap, flask, candle, magnets, bike stickers
I've seen these sort of posts everywhere and I find them really useful, so I thought I'd do one! I picked all of these gifts from Topshop, and they're just so lovely and quirky. They're also very affordable, which is great considering there is always so much to buy around Christmas time.

I am very excited about Christmas despite everyone telling me it's too early. My brothers coming home from uni and I just love all the 'Christmas cheer' (cringey or what). It's never too early to get excited about Christmas, earlier the better I say! I need to get my mits on some Christmas Yankee Candles and some gingerbread and I'm all set!

P.S: I changed my layout/theme, you like?

VO5 'Instant Oomph Powder'

Hello! I bought this the other week after hearing good things about it from a friend. I was a bit sceptical at first, how can a powder give you volume? I used it yesterday before going to a party and was pleasantly surprised: it kept my hair nice and voluminous. My hair is prone to being as flat as a pancake as its very thin so it's great to find something that can give it a bit of oomph.

It did make my roots very gungy and stiff - but I think this may be down to me thinking 'how can just a tiny bit of powder give my hair volume? I better put the whole bloody bottle on....'. Not a good idea. Only the smallest bit can make a big difference, so don't over do it as you will suffer the consequences.

One thing I love about this product as it lasts- not like other products I could mention, this kept my hair big all evening even with all the dancing and moving around. The product is also completely clear - you can't see anything at all, so if you have dark hair this is a plus.

Overall I really like this product, for £4.07 a pop it may not be everyones cup of tea, but if you suffer from flat hair like me, definitely give this a try.

Lush 'Twilight' Shower Gel

Long time no see! I apologise that I haven't been blogging much recently- as it is 'that year' where school work basically consumes all of my time I haven't had much time to sit down and blog. I have been buying and testing new products not to mention clothes, so hopefully over the next few weeks I'll update you all on all the new things I've bought and loved.

Lush is my one true love at Christmas time. Long, hot bubble baths and soapy showers with Christmassy scents definitely make the winter months bearable. I bought this shower gel the other day, and I am in love. It smells like lavender which is supposed to be relaxing, which is perfect for me at the moment because school work has been putting me under a lot of stress. It also has tiny specks of glitter in it, which at first I thought 'uh-oh, I'm going to be walking around looking like a Christmas fairy', but miraculously it washes off and (so far) I have been glitter free.

This shower gel is slightly more pricey than their other shower gels, I bought the 100g bottle for £4.25. I don't think that's too bad, considering something high-end would be about triple the price for half the size.

New Purchases - Topshop and Pull & Bear

how pretty is this carrier bag?

Hello! I went shopping last weekend and bought these two things. I've been wanting some denim dungarees for ages, but they seem to be a bit er... controversial. By that I mean literally no one likes them, to quote my brother 'dungargees are for four year olds'. But I like them so I don't care! I got those from Topshop for £20 in the sale. I'm planning on wearing them tomorrow so I'll upload and outfit photo so you can see how I would style them. I also got this shirt from Pull & Bear, for £25 which is a bit pricey for my budget but since I've been working hard at school what the hey, I thought I'd treat myself. It's thin chiffon with light blue linen/cotton sleeves and pockets and studs on the collar tips. Hope you all have a good weekend!

(By the way, sorry for the crap quality photos, it's been so dark recently so it's impossible to take a good picture after 4pm)

Lush Wishlist

click the photo to go to the lush website, and the soap is called 'northern lights'
I am obsessed with Lush at the moment! I don't know if it's because they have the Christmas stock in or what, but whenever I'm out I always find myself going in and lusting over all the products. These are a few of my particular favourites, they all smell amazing. I do find some of the Lush smells a bit.. iffy, but these are gorgeous. So if anyone wants to buy me these for Christmas please do haha.

Nivea Milk & Honey Lip Balm

I use lip balms as much as I breathe, I run out of them so quickly and so I always have to buy new ones. I never really feel like they do anything however, most lip balms I have tried just feel greasy and heavy on my lips and don't stop them from cracking. After I ran out of my 'flava craze' lip balm (tastes amazing by the way) and I bought this 'Nivea Pure & Natural Milk and Honey' lipbalm and I love it; it doesn't feel greasy at all. I was a bit sceptical about the taste at first - it tastes a bit like scented candles - but It's grown on me. After use my lips feel moisturised and smooth even in this horrible English winter weather. You do need to re-apply every so often, it won't keep your lips smooth for hours, but this doesn't bother me. For £3.95, this is definitely a must buy.

Jumper - Primark, Scarf - Market in London, Shoes - Primark, Jeans - River Island, Hat - H&M

Hello! This is yesterdays outfit. I literally did nothing all day, all I did was watch films and eat cake, but it was so nice because I love having lazy days. I was planning to stay in my pyjamas all day but my Dad kept going on at me to get dressed. I watched Tower Heist as well, I wasn't so sure at the beginning of the film but it turned out to be really good!
So thats all I have to say really, I've got so many tests, coursework, controlled assessments etc to be doing so I haven't really had time for any 'proper' posts, hopefully during the holidays I'll be able to do some reviews and things.

Primark Haul - 13/10/12

Hello! I went to London yesterday, and visited the new Tottenham Court road Primark. It's amazing! So much better than the one by Selfridges, its less busy and everything is layed out really well. I didn't plan to spend that much in Primark, but I ended up buying all this. Since it wasn't that busy, the changing rooms were actually accessible and we were able to try things on. I tried on seven items but only came out with one (the trousers, I found the top after), which was quite dissapointing but I did get quite a bit anyway.

After Primark we browsed some other shops but nothing really caught my eye, so before we got on the train home we had a quick look in boots. They had a three for two offer on all makeup, so how could I refuse? I got this Miss Sporty foundation after my dermatologist said that the makeup I wear is too heavy and I should look for something lighter, for younger skin. I haven't wore it yet, but I swatched it on my hand and it's very light, and very soft on the skin. I might do a further review of it once I've tried it out for a bit longer. I also got these two nail polishes, which I am very happy with. The red gel nail polish was £1 more expensive than Barry M's usual price, but I got the glittery one free so I didn't mind spending the extra pound. The gel nail polish does actually do what it says it does, It makes my nails look shiny even after it had dried.

So a pretty good haul I think! Hope you enjoyed reading!

Mallzee.com

I was recently contacted by Mallzee.com about their upcoming shopping website, and I'm in love with the idea.

On Mallzee, you can create your own personalised shopping mall by picking out your favourite shops and brands, and they then chose things to suit your style, and showcases them to you on your homepage. You can also connect to friends by looking at their Mallzee, which makes it much more social than normal online shopping, because you can see what other people are looking at and gather inspiration and see what clothes they're in to. Also, which is a big win for me considering I'm always broke, when someone sees something on your Mallzee and decides to buy it- you get paid! So yes, you get paid for shopping, every girls dream. Mallzee currently have a competition running where you can win £100 ($155) worth of shopping vouchers as well, all you have to do is share the link to facebook or twitter, easy!

I think this is a really good idea for a website, I love online shopping and this is a brilliant way to make it more interesting. So go ahead and check it out, it isn't launching until later this year so unfortunately you can't join just yet, but if you put in your email on their website, you can sign up for an exclusive relaunch invite and be the first to use Mallzee.

Thank you for reading!

Nail Polish Collection and Storage

Barry M
Various brands                                                                         LA Colours and Rimmel London
Hey! This is my nail polish collection. I keep it in a converse shoe box, which such a good size, it fits all the Barry M nail polishes in rows, and because I'm a perfectionist this is well, perfect. A few of the nail polishes are my friend Thalia's - I borrowed a load a few weeks back and she borrowed some of mine, and we have yet to swap back. To be honest, I don't even remember which ones I gave her so it might be a bit tricky getting them back haha.

If you have any questions about which brand something is or the name of a nail polish, just ask below and I'll be sure to answer :)

It's you, it's you, it's all for you

Jumper - Topshop, Shorts - H&M, Bracelets & watch - markets in various countries, Snood - New Look, Shoes - Shoe zone

Hello! I went shopping at the weekend and I bought this tartan snood. I've wanted something like it for ages, and this one is just perfect. I also bought these leather shorts the other week, and I was slightly worried they would be a bit sticky since they're leather, but they're lined with cotton so they don't stick.
I had a half day of school today, but sadly instead of going out and having fun I've been stuck at home revising. Curse you History assessment.
Hope you're all having a good week!
